Using the Search Engine

Shop by format, genre, or item title by following the steps below. To view our entire inventory, perform a search without any settings (the default).

1. Please choose settings for the following:
   

   Title/Keyword	the English title (if there is a commonly-known one; often, the Japanese title in Hepburn-Romaji). You may also input maufacturers' catalog numbers or parts of cat numbers, or input keywords to lookup. (separate keywords with spaces). (ex: "Himitsu Sentai GoRanger"; or keyword combinations like "BCBA" (a common cat.# stem) or "tenchi radio"; to view only sets of items, input "set")
   Format	DVD, LD, CD (albums and maxi-singles), CDS (3" CD-Singles), etc
   Genre	Anime, Tokusatsu/SFX, Game-related, etc.
   Condition rank	the items' disk surface condition. Ranks are explained below.
   Number of items/page	choose to list 30, 50, 100, or 1000 items per page.
   Font size	choose to list smallest, small, regular, big, or biggest size text.
   Date stocked	choose to see items that were stocked only during the past week, or our entire inventory (the default).

2. Click the "Search" icon, and the search proceeds according to your settings.
   (if you don't choose any settings, everything will be displayed)
    
3. A list of items is displayed, with prices. You may click the item title to see if a photo of the item is available.

Understanding Our Inventory List

Genre

To save space, we use the following abbreviations for genres:

T	Tokusatsu/SFX. Live-action heros, kaijuu (giant monsters), sentai, etc.
A	Anime. titles related to animation.
V	Seiyuu. Voice actor/actress titles.
G	Game-related. Arcade, console, or PC-game-related titles.
H	"Ecchi" and "Hentai." Adult/erotic anime titles.
F	Films. Non-Japanese movies and series.
J	Japanese films and series.
I	"Indies." Japanese Independent films and anime.
E	"Et cetera." Music videos, documentaries, and other titles.

Price

Item's price, in Japanese yen.

Rank

Item's disk-surface condition; ranked as follows:

N	Brand New; not a pre-owned item
U	pre-owned, but completely unopened; still in factory wrapper.
U'	inners unopened; only the outer box/wrapper has been opened.
A	like-new condition
A'	very slight wear visible under close inspection in flourescent light.
B	wear (dust/marks/minor scratches) apparent, but not at all likely to cause noise (picture/audio dropout).
C	rather badly scratched/worn; noise/dropout may result.

You may assume all packaging/booklets/extras are in very good to excellent condition, except what's noted.
The A, B, C ranks above apply only to the actual disk surfaces.
VHS tapes and CD-Singles are not ranked; badly worn VHS tapes or CD-Singles will have the comment "rental wear" or something similar.
Independent Film items are all brand-new, except where noted.

Extra goods/packaging

OBI	an "obi" (pronounced "oh-bee") is the spine/sleeve card often packaged w/ Japanese CDs, LDs, etc.
LIN	liner notes/pamphlet; often included w/LDs
LYR	cd booklets or lyric cards
GDS	"omake," Japanese term for bonus goods (stickers/pinups, etc.) included w/ some products.
FST	omake goods that come with 1st edition/pressing items; like above

For these items,
o = present.
x = missing.
(blank) = never existed for this item as far as we know.

EDN

item's edition/pressing; as follows:

fst = first pressing/edition
rep = repeat edition; 2nd edition or higher
(blank) = either multiple editions don't exist, or we can't confirm.

Comments

Special notes concerning this item's condition, etc. A blank indicates nothing to note.
(ex: includes special item / obi is torn / box corner damage / etc.) Item damage or defects are described roughly in terms of severity: very slight, slight, moderate (no qualifier; ex: "box damage"), major, extreme.
Items stocked within the past week have their in-stock date displayed here.

Using the Shopping Cart

!Important Note!
For the shopping cart to function properly, you must enable "cookies" on your web browser. If your security level is set too high, cookies may be disabled. If so, please lower your security level. MS Internet Explorer 6.0 is notorious for having cookies disabled at its default security setting! (IE users, access "Internet Options" in the "Tools" menu. Then choose the "Privacy" menu, where you can adjust the security level.)

1. Click the "add" button for items you would like to place in your shopping cart.
2. The number of items in your shopping cart and their total will be displayed in the upper right of your browser window.
3. When finished adding items to your cart, click the "check your cart" icon.
4. Your cart's contents are displayed. Please check for mistakes.
   To remove items from your cart, click the "Remove" button of the items you wish to delete, and they'll disappear from the list.
5. After deciding your order, click "go to checkout" to proceed with your order.

Goods Shop

Starting in July 2002, you may order/preorder character goods together with our usual audio-visual items.

In-stock items: we will confirm availability, reserve your items, and send you an order status message within 1-3 days.

Preorder items: Only requests confirmed before the item's preorder deadline may be accepted.
After recieving your preorder, we will reply with a confirmation and estimate.
Please note that due to item size and weight differences, we cannot perfectly predict your shipping costs.
Also, preorder deadlines are very early, so release-date changes may occur and delay delivery of your goods.
Other policies regarding goods preorders:

• We do not require down payment for goods preorders. We take payment for the total (items, shipping, handling, and any order additions) when we have stocked your items and are ready to ship.
• Please, credit card payment only. Customers without a c.card, please contact us for instructions.
• The PRE-ORDER DEADLINE varies by item. Please check the listings carefully! We must receive the customer's order confirmation before this deadline.
• Items with release dates within 2 weeks of each other may be bundled and sent together in one package. Shipping for separate packages will be charged for items with release dates further apart.

** CONFIRMED PRE-ORDERS MAY NOT BE CANCELLED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.**

Using Our Goods Shopping Cart:

Shop by keyword or category by following the steps below. To view our entire inventory, perform a search without any settings (the default).

   Keyword the English item title (if there is a commonly-known one; often, the Japanese title in Hepburn-Romaji). You may also input keywords to lookup. (separate keywords with spaces).
   (ex: "Saint Seiya" or "Godzilla;" to view only sets of items, input "set")
   Category We have several categories of goods in our database:
   Figure, Plush, Gashapon (capsule figures), Trading Figures (closed box), Toy (henshin belts, wands, etc), Candy Toy (boxed figures with candy inside), Miscellaneous, Apparel, and Books/Magazines.
2. Click the "Search" icon, and the search proceeds according to your settings.
   (if you don't choose any settings, everything will be displayed)
3. A list of item titles, prices, and pictures is displayed. Click on the title or picture to see merchandise details or add the item into your shopping cart.

Item Details

Maker	=	Bandai, Banprestro, Sega, etc.
Size	=	the item's rough dimension, in centimeters! (One cm = .394 inches.)
Release	=	the item's release date.
Preorder DL	=	the item's pre-order deadline. Customers must confirm their orders by this date.
Details	=	any notes concerning the item.
Price	=	item price, in Japanese yen.

Click the item's purchase or preorder button to place the item in your shopping cart;
the cart's contents and total will be displayed on the upper right of your screen.
When finished selecting your items, click "check cart" to proceed, and then follow the onscreen instructions to complete ordering.

After getting your order form, we will soon reply with an estimate including shipping and handling.
Please check the estimate, and within 24 hrs, contact us and confirm your order.

(Jungle uses EMS Express Airmail for all international shipments as of 11 Feb 2005)

Insurance / Registered Mail / Tracking Info

Shipping Policies:

• The Jungle uses the Japan Postal Service for sending international orders.
• International orders ship at 3pm daily, except for Wednesdays and store holidays.
• We strongly recommend full postal insurance for your shipments. EMS automatically includes up to Y20,000 insurance for most locations, and additional coverage usually costs only Y50-100. Remember, coverage only goes up to a package's declared value.
• The Jungle packs all orders securely.
  We are not responsible for damages or theft of items incurred during shipment.
  It is the customer's responsibility to contact their post office to collect insurance, though we will assist.
• Due to import restrictions on pornography, customs officers in some countries have defaced or removed adult "hentai" items in some customers' orders.
  Please note that the Jungle cannot provide an exchange or refund in such instances!
• Jungle is not liable for any taxes, duties, or customs fees levied on your items, nor are we responsible for damage or delays in delivery due to customs inspections. Please be aware of how your country's import policies and taxes may affect you.

Shipping Methods

This page is only meant to provide a rough idea of shipping costs. Exact costs will be included with each order. All prices are in Japanese Yen. If converting, use the rough rate of Y100 = US$1.00

EMS (express air mail)

Recommended! Fast (generally 3-6 days), secure, and includes postal insurance up to Y20,000 (add'l insurance is inexpensive). EMS is trackable from 26 countries (max. package weight: 30 kg).

insuring EMS parcels: For items over Y20,000, extra insurance is available for an additional Y50 per Y20,000 coverage increase. (NOTE: postal insurance policies vary by country.)

Shipment Timing

Please choose 1 of 3 arrangements when you place your order:

1. STANDARD (default for new customers, pre/backorders, or IPMO/cash payment orders)
   After you receive your Order Status email, please reply within 24 hours to confirm the order and we will proceed right away.
2. SHIP ASAP (repeat customers only)
   If all your items are currently in stock, we will bill and ship immediately.
3. OPEN ORDER
   We will leave your order "open" for one week so you may browse for additional items. Items may not be cancelled after the first 24 hours. We may charge a deposit (the item price) at the start of your order.

Insurance/Special Services

Insuring shipments for their full value is inexpensive and highly recommended: EMS is generally trustworthy, but on very rare occasions they are lost or damaged. Jungle isn't responsible for parcels once they leave the shop, and refunds/exchanges won't be offered except in case of mistaken items. (note: insurance may not be applied to packages going to certain destinations.)

EMS parcels already include Y20,000 coverage, and Y50 buys additional Y20,000 coverage increments.

Tracking Info

EMS packages are trackable from most destinations(Australia and France are notable exceptions). The Jungle will provide an EMS number with the ship-out notice. Using that, you may use Japan Post's website or your country's postal service to track the parcel.

Payment Policy:

• When prompted, please arrange your payment on time to avoid cancellation of your order.
• Regular orders are shipped as soon as possible (usually within 24 hrs) after receiving payment.

Refund / Exchange Policy:

• No refunds/exhanges are offered except in case of mistaken merchandise.
• We inspect and rank our merchandise very carefully, but are not able to watch/listen to each item. Item condition ranks only apply to disk surfaces; please assume item packaging is in very good to excellent condition, except where noted. All items are sold "as is;" no refunds/exchanges are possible in case of "laser rot" or similar defects. Customers concerned with packaging defects or laser rot must inquire before their orders ship!
• We package all orders securely. Refunds/exchanges for items damaged or lost in the mail will not be offered; only our assistance in collecting applicable postal insurance. The Jungle recommends insuring your orders whenever possible.
• Due to import restrictions on pornography, customs officers in some countries have defaced or removed adult "hentai" items in some customers' orders. Pricing Policy:

• All prices on our site are listed in Japanese yen. For rough daily exchange rates, please check oanda.com.
• International order totals are the sum of: A) item price, B) handling charge (10% of item price), and C) shipping fees.
• The 10% international handling charge covers the extra time, packaging and effort necessary for international shipments. The handling charge will never exceed Y10,000.
• Japanese consumption tax does not apply to international orders.

Payment Options

1. Credit/Debit Card - Visa, MasterCard, American Express

The quickest and most convenient payment method. For orders totalling Y2,000 or more (including shipping and handling), customers may use their credit card. The yen total will be converted to your currency by your credit card company/bank; the exchange rates they use vary slightly from the daily rate. For approximate daily rate info, please check oanda.com.

Our site is Verisign SSL encrypted, so customers may input their credit card info together with their order using our order form, or at any time using our Comments form. You may fax us your card data, but email is not secure. If you wish to phone, please be aware that no native English speakers are present to take your call. We require the following info:

• card type
• card number plus secret 3- or 4-digit number (on back of card; 4 digits with AmEx)
• expiration date
• card holder's name as it appears on the card
• billing address (if different from your shipping address)

Customers may NOT use another person's card, except those of immediate family (and in this case, we require a legible copy of the card and the card holder's picture i.d., along with a written, signed statement permitting use of the card).
If the customer requests, we will place their credit card on file in a secure, net-isolated database for use in future transactions (only one card per customer may be filed). Customers must forward their credit card information within 3 days after completing their order. Orders are shipped only after being successfully charged. Please confirm that your card company/bank does not have a block on international charges. To protect your privacy, we do not include the customer's copy of the credit card charge slip in your package, unless you specifically request it.

2. International Postal Money Order (IPMO)

IPMO's may be purchased at post offices in the USA, Germany, France, and some other countries.
IPMOs are only available from post offices, not banks or other businesses. We CANNOT accept domestic postal money orders, or bank-issued m.o.'s; please be careful!
A list of countries where IPMO's are available is HERE. Please note there are some glaring omissions (UK, Australia, Canada, etc) on this list.
IPMO's may be drawn in US$ (we will convert the yen total into US$ and inform you of the exact amount you must send) or Japanese yen (the exact amount; available in some countries).
** IPMOs must be made payable to "Jungle Co., Ltd."
Customers have 3 days after completing their order to send their IPMO and inform us of their IPMO's serial number. We must recieve payment within 2 weeks of the beginning of any order.

3. Cash Payment (JP Yen / US$) sent via Registered Mail

Customers sending yen cash may send their exact order amount (yen cash may be purchased at many banks). For customers sending US$, we will convert the yen total into US$ and inform you of the exact amount. Please do not send coins; round up to the next dollar/yen bill. We will confirm the exact amount with you before you must send it.
We encourage customers to avoid sending cash in the mail; any lost payments are the customer's responsibility.
Customers have 3 days after completing their order to send their cash payment and inform us of the letter's registered mail serial number or tracking number. We must recieve payment within 2 weeks of the beginning of any order.

4. Paypal

Paypal is now available.
When you place an order with Paypal , please write "PAYPAL" in the comment blank.

• Except for character goods, Indies items, and where noted, all items are pre-owned.
• There is a handling charge - 10% of the item's listed price - placed on all international orders.
• Due to time differences, items listed are not guaranteed to be in stock.
• After we receive your order, your requested items are reserved for 24 hrs, and an order confirmation is emailed to you a.s.a.p. Please respond to the order confirmation promptly to ensure your item(s) will be available.
• When prompted, please confirm your order or arrange payment on time.
• We check and rank the condition of our used items as carefully and accurately as possible. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
• All items are packed securely and sold as is. Returns will only be accepted in the event that we mistakenly send a customer the wrong item. If an insured item is damaged in shipment, we will assist the customer in reporting the damage and collecting from the post office.
• Our inventory lists are updated daily (except Wednesdays and holidays) shortly after 7pm JST.
